Modern work is no longer tied to a single device. With the right IT modernization strategy and managed IT services, your team can move seamlessly between devices without disruption. Features like multi-device support in Teams meetings are designed to support how people actually work today.
If you start a meeting on one device and need to switch or add another, Teams makes it easy to stay connected. Below are the steps for joining a meeting from another device or transferring it entirely.

Two Options
You can either transfer the meeting to another device or keep both devices connected at the same time.
Transferring a meeting from one device to another
- While in a meeting on one device, open the Teams application on the second device.
- A message will appear indicating you are already in a meeting on another device.
- Select Join.
- Choose between:
- Add this device, or
- Transfer to this device.
- Select Transfer to this device.
- Set your audio and video preferences, then select Join.
- Your original device will leave the meeting once the transfer is complete.
Adding a second device to a meeting
- While in a meeting, open Teams on your second device.
- Select Join when prompted.
- Choose:
- Add this device, or
- Transfer to this device.
- Select Add this device.
- Your second device will join muted to prevent echo. You can enable audio and video as needed.
With both devices connected, you can share content from either one and move more fluidly through your workflow. This type of flexibility is a direct result of modernized systems and well-managed environments that support productivity instead of slowing it down.
